WHITE MESA URANIUM MILL
"ALTERNATE FEED" MATERIALS

The White Mesa Mill has received, processed, and disposed of thousands of tons of material that was not uranium ore. The non-ore material is referred to as "alternate feed material." The materials are wastes from the cleanup of other mining, "milling, and radioactive material processing operations. The Mill is still receiving these materials. The owners of the Mill must apply for a license amendment to receive and process these materials and show that the material does not contain RCRA hazardous waste.

Below are documents pertaining to these license amendment requests and approvals. Many of these amendment requests were challenged in administrative hearings. Uranium Watch will add to these documents as the documents are scanned and uploaded. It is a slow process.
